Experience an evening like no other, as the Museum’s chief curator, Kirk Johnson, partners with Opera Colorado’s Young Artists to deliver a one-of-a-kind journey down the Amazon River. Johnson has traveled to the Amazon as part of his research to gain a better understanding of rain forests and how they work. Enjoy Johnson’s tales from the river as Young Artists perform pieces from Florencia en el Amazonas, an opera that follows singer Florencia Grimaldi as she embarks on a journey up the Amazon to the opera house in Manaus where she hopes to meet Cristobal, the lover she left behind long ago. Following the program, enjoy dessert and a chance to meet some of the Young Artists. For information on full performances of this opera, visit www.operacolorado.org.
All sales are final unless the Museum cancels the course.
