By mid-May, the songbird migration is well underway. Eastern Colorado is home to a number of “migrant traps,” oases in the high-prairie desert, usually a pond or lake surrounded by woodland. Migrating songbirds flying across the endless prairie see these hospitable-looking sites and are attracted to them like tourists to a Holiday Inn in the wasteland! Warblers, flycatchers, orioles, vireos, thrushes, and more have one thing on their minds: eating and drinking as much as they can hold to continue their migration to the nesting grounds. We will search for all of these and more.
All sales are final unless the Museum cancels the event.
