Donate to the Volunteer Fund

The Volunteer Fund was created in fall 2010 to recognize volunteers for their incredible dedication and give them a chance to support specific projects and activities that enhance the Museum’s commitment to being a catalyst in the community. After reaching the initial fundraising goal of $100,000, the Fund was established as an endowment through the DMNS Foundation and a committee of Museum volunteers began awarding meaningful grants.
The funded projects have had a positive impact across the Museum, such as the purchase of six new work stations in the Schlessman Family Laboratory of Earth Sciences to improve conditions for volunteer preparators and four iPads that the Museum Ambassador Team has used to better serve guests. These projects reflect the generous spirit of our 1,800 volunteers who donate hundreds of thousands of hours of their time each year.
Gifts to the Volunteer Fund may be made in honor or memory of individuals or be in support of the Museum and its volunteers. For more information, please contact
