Indigenous Film: An Evening with Terry Jones

Haudenosaunee filmmaker Terry Jones, an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, has a passion for sharing his Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) history and culture through his film. He strives to find a balance between entertaining and educating his audiences. A selection of Jones’ short films will be streamed during the event, then engage in a live discussion with this talented filmmaker and founder of Torn Jersey Films. Film selections include: "Empire State," a perspective on invasion, war and occupation, through the eyes of an elder; "Gik:skwod (How I Lost My Indian Name)," experimental storytelling told through narration, images and test; "Soup for My Brother," a poetic documentary about memory, loss and brotherly love. Additional titles to be announced.
