6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
For millennia, humans have been using symbols and images to represent their ideas and messages. Today, we are immersed in a society that identifies itself through symbols of nationality and corporate logos. This isn’t all that different from past societies. Rich Busch, an archaeologist and the Museum’s education collections manager, leads you through an examination of a broad range of modern and ancient symbols. Using images and collections, explore rock art from around the world, writing and other representations of language, and the iconography of status and power throughout history in the Americas. All sales are final unless the Museum cancels the program.
